You open and close this car using the MyWheels app.
Opening the car
Open the car in the app via your reservation.
Disconnecting the charging cable (if the car is plugged in)
Take the charging token from the glove compartment.
Hold it against the reader on the charging station to stop charging.
Make sure the car is unlocked via the app. The connector only releases when the car is unlocked.
Press the release button on the connector and pull the cable out of the car.
Then remove the cable from the charging station.
Storing the charging cable
Take the cable with you and put it back in its designated place in the cargo area.
Starting the car and driving off
Get in the car.
Press the foot brake.
Press the EV button on the stalk to the right of the steering wheel. The display shows that the car is ready to drive. You will not hear an engine sound.
Use the same stalk to select a gear: keep the brake pressed and turn the stalk to D (forward) or R (reverse). There is no gear lever on the centre console.
Release the parking brake by pushing the EPB switch down. The red brake light on the dashboard goes out.
Release the brake to drive off.
Good to know
If you press the EV button without pressing the brake, only the electronics switch on and you cannot drive off. Always press the foot brake first.
This is a van with a solid bulkhead. You have no view through the rear window, so you drive using the exterior mirrors and the camera.
Trouble starting
Press the foot brake firmly and press the EV button.
No engine sound? That is normal, this is an electric car. Check whether the display shows the car is ready to drive.
Check that the charging cable is disconnected and the charging door is closed.
Not in P? Press the P button on the end of the gear stalk, press the foot brake and try again.
Check that you still have an active reservation in the app.
