Help! The car isn't charging

Updated over 5 months ago

If the Renault Zoe isn't charging, follow this checklist:

  1. Check if the car is turned off.
Look at the dashboard. A green light with "Ready" indicates the car is turned on. Ensure this light is not illuminated.

  2. Check the charging cable.
Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the charging station and the car.

  3. Inspect the dashboard for errors.
If the Renault Zoe shows a charging error, you'll see a notification on the dashboard. In this case, contact support for assistance.

  4. Verify the charging session.
Did you scan the charging key fob against the charging station's reader? Check the indicator light on the station for its status:

    • Red: The charging station is out of order.

    • Yellow/Orange: The charging process hasn't started yet.

    • Blue: The session is active, and the car is charging.

  5. Try a different charging port.
If the station has multiple ports, connect the cable to another port.

  6. Try a different charging station.
Use the app (e.g., Chargemap) to locate another station within the zone and attempt charging there.

Important:

  • For zone-based cars:
Parking in a charging spot without actively charging is illegal. If charging is not possible, move the car to a regular parking spot to avoid fines or towing.

  • For cars with a fixed charging spot:
You may park the car at its designated charging spot without charging, but you must contact support to confirm this arrangement to prevent fines or towing.
