Press the brake pedal.
Press the round start button (located just below the steering wheel).
The car is on when the "READY" light appears on the dashboard.
The Renault Zoë has an electronic handbrake (located on the center console near the gear selector). You can manually release it by holding the button up, or it will release automatically when you drive off.
Keep the brake pedal pressed to change gears:
The gear options are:
R = Reverse
N = Neutral
D = Normal driving
B = Driving with regenerative braking; the car slows down when you release the accelerator.
Push the gear selector forward or backward to switch gears. The lever will automatically return to its original position. The indicator next to the lever shows the selected gear, which also appears on the display. Once you release the brake in D, R, or B mode, the car will start moving.
Help! The Car Won’t Start
Start the car correctly:
Press and hold the brake pedal.
Press the start button at the same time.
Note: The Renault Zoë is electric and does not make a sound like a gasoline car. Check the display for the "READY" message to confirm the car is on.
Check the charging cable:
Ensure the charging cable is unplugged.
Make sure the charging flap is properly closed.
Check the gear selector:
Confirm the gear selector is in the N (Neutral) position.
If not:
Hold the brake pedal.
Move the gear selector to N.
Press the start button again.
Once the car starts, select the desired gear (D for forward, R for reverse).
