How do I charge an electric vehicle?

You can charge an electric car during your ride at any public charging station. Instructions may vary depending on the car, so be sure to check the manual for additional information.

Standard Instructions:

1. Connect the charging cable to the charging station.
2. Take the charging card or fob from the glove compartment.
3. Hold the charging card or fob against the sensor on the charging station.
4. Wait until the light on the station turns blue.

Also, check the instructions for fast charging.

Where can I find the charging card/fob/key?

The charging key is attached to the car key or is in the glove compartment. It’s a gray/green "fob" or a card. If there’s no charging key available, you can charge the car yourself and claim the costs. To charge it yourself, you can scan a credit card or bank card at the charging station.

How do I know that the car is charging?

After activating the chargepole with the charging key/tag, the light around the cable should turn blue. If it shows a different color, reactivate the charging or call the number on the charging station to reset it. The car's dashboard will also indicate that the car is charging.
